FEBRUARY 2017 - MYG DigiLeaders visit the KM Group Head Office
The MYG DigiLeaders got to experience a real-life newsroom on a visit to the Kent Messenger Group Head Office in Medway. The budding young journalists and photographers learned from Medway Messenger reporters, editors and photographers, as well as the online team and the kmfm radio presenters. Hempstead Junior School DigiLeaders wrote: "Yesterday, we were lucky enough to visit Kent Messenger headquarters, located by the River Medway. Six of us, who are DigiLeaders at our school, attended to learn a number of things: how to edit a newspaper report, how KM online works, an insight into how to report on sport and how KMFM broadcasts to the county. We all found the experience fascinating - certainly gaining some tips to use for when we are going to be working at the forthcoming Mini Youth Games events. “It was a great morning… maybe we could start our own newspaper in school?” exclaimed Joe Conner, one of the children who visited."
