OCTOBER 2014 - New Marie Curie Mini Pots of Care resources and characters launched
Jem Education Direct and JPRye (project-ed) have completed the development of five new educational resources for the Marie Curie Mini Pots of Care campaign. Alongside the new resources, three new illustrated characters - Chlora, Phyl and Nadine - were created to guide and support children with their learning. Every year over 3,000 schools, nurseries and groups across the UK take part in Marie Curie's Mini Pots of Care fundraising activities and our resources have been created to make sure that the activity ties in with the national curriculum.

SEPTEMBER / OCTOBER 2014 - RFU All Schools kit design workshops with Canterbury
Working with the England Rugby Football Union, JPRye has been delivering part of the RFU's All Schools Programme. One hundred schools were invited to attend a Kit Design workshop, held at Community Rugby Clubs across the country. Secondary school students spent the day learning about the importance of kit in Rugby Union and designing their own Rugby Kit for the school with a Canterbury graphic artist. An amazing opportunity for young people to kick-start rugby union in their school.

SEPTEMBER 2014 - Kent INSPIRE celebrated
On Thursday 18 September 2014, a small celebration event was held to say a big thank you to individuals, schools and organisations involved in the Kent INSPIRE Programme. Led by Danny O’Donovan, Kent INSPIRE County Co-ordinator, the informal celebration event held at Oakwood House recognised the support and leadership of individuals in developing a range of opportunities for young people in Kent through Sport, the Arts, and Education. JPRye co-ordinated the AV requirements for the celebration, and the design and creation of the celebration plaques and certificates. Amongst the distinguished guests was Cllr Northey, Deputy Cabinet Member Kent County Council, and Lizzy Yarnold, Kent’s own Olympic Gold Medallist.

SEPTEMBER 2014 - Kent Trust for Youth Sport branding is on the road
This month, the Kent Trust for Youth Sport confirmed a new partnership with Kent's leading haulage provider, Alan Firmin Ltd. A distinctive new vehicle will be seen on the roads of Kent, promoting the recently rebranded charity. The vehicle branding was designed by JPRye as part of the overall rebrand of the charity.

JULY 2014 - Quality through Leadership rebrand complete
Jem Education Direct and JPRye (project-ed) have completed the rebrand and relaunch of Quality through Leadership. QTL's vision is to provide inspiring, world-class quality accredited leadership development for future school leaders at all stages of their career. The rebrand included a new logo and brand concept, and accompanying marketing materials such as flyers, posters, USB flash drives, document folders, pull up banners, pens and pencils. Once complete, the promotional materials were sent to schools by Jem Education Direct in time for school leaders to register for the new courses.

JUNE 2014 - Dart-for-d Games Legacy Programme, sport festivals and Gold celebration evening
For the Dart-for-d Games Legacy Programme, JPRye managed a busy month of sports festivals, including Sitting Volleyball, Goalball and Handball, and the Gold celebration evening. 40 KS1 and 90 KS2 pupils attended the Sitting Volleyball festival, 50 KS1 pupils attended the Goalball festival, and 100 KS2 children attended the Handball festival. At the Sitting Volleyball festival, children were joined and inspired by Team GB women's Sitting Volleyball captain Claire Harvey and Battleback player Kushal Limbu. London 2012 Paralympic coach Tom Middleton and London 2012 Olympian Dan MacMillan joined in the fun at the Handball festival sharing gameplay hints and skills advice with children.

JUNE 2014 - Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games Queen's Baton Relay comes to Kent
The Queen's Baton Relay is a much loved tradition of the Commonwealth Games and symbolises the coming together of all Commonwealth nations and territories.It visited 16 different locations in England en route to the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. On 5 June 2014, the Queen's Baton Relay toured Kent, visited local schools and acted as the centrepiece for events which celebrated the countdown to Glasgow 2014. JPRye co-developed and event managed the Dartford and Gravesham stop for 500 attendees, including a carousel of sport to maximise the opportunity for schoolchildren from Dartford and Gravesham. JPRye also developed and managed the countywide Kent INSPIRE Ambassador programme, through which 30 young people played a very special part during the celebrations.

GASP Education and JPRye are pleased to announce that the IGNITE Sport website is now live. IGNITE is a multi-award winning programme run by the charity Access Sport. IGNITE supports community sports clubs in disadvantaged areas to better engage with young disabled people.

MAY 2014 - Knockhall Academy website goes live
The new Knockhall Academy website has gone live, which JPRye captured and developed the imagery for. The school is becoming a Lilac Sky Academy School in August and requested JPRye to spend time in school capturing imagery of children taking part in daily school life.

APRIL 2014 - Dart-for-d Games Legacy Programme, Colours of the Commonwealth BookBench
For the Dart-for-d Games Legacy Programme, JPRye developed and delivered a programme for 18 schools to be a part of a cross-curricular project with a core Arts focus presented in the form of a 'BookBench'. Dart-for-d Games Legacy Programme provided each primary, junior and infant school with a one metre long bench in the shape of an open book. These BookBenches provide a great focal point for a school's reception, library or an outdoor area, and more importantly, between October and December 2013 children from each school decorated them! For this project, the BookBenches were designed and painted using influences of the art from a school's chosen continent of the Commonwealth, leading up to the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. In April 2014, two BookBenches went on display at the Waterstones Store in Bluewater.

For the Dart-for-d Games Legacy Programme, JPRye managed an opportunity for 120 Year 6 pupils to participate in a British Cycling Go-Ride competition over two days at the CycloPark, one of the newest sporting facilities in North West Kent. Each pupil participated in both a Mountain Bike time trial and a BMX competition to earn points for their performance, and also their school's overall position in the two-day competition. CycloPark aims to bring first-class cycling, running and extreme sports facilities to north Kent and offers a 2.9km long CycloCircuit for road racing, a 330m BMX race track, 6kms of mountain bike trails plus a 600m2 multi-use games area, a 3,000m2 playground, and a 1,400m2 skate park!

INSPIRE is a Kent School's Education Olympics Legacy Programme to ensure we maintain the momentum of the London 2012 Games, and the clear benefits that this brings to education. INSPIRE will help to sustain the strong legacy in Kent of partnership working between schools and provide excellent engagement opportunities for young people in a range of sporting, cultural, learning and personal development activities. INSPIRE is delivered by a partnership between Kent County Council’s Education, Learning and Skills Directorate, Kent County Council’s Culture and Sport Group, Kent schools, Royal Opera House Bridge, and Artswork Bridge.
